List of essential oils and plants to be aware of for our dogs and cats!

So, all of us who love our “fur kids” know that we do our BEST to take care of their EVERY need…including knowing what things they are ALLOWED to eat, and which things are more harmful for them. Up until my husband and I got our 2 pups 4 years ago, I didn’t realize that there were certain essential oils or plants (inside or outside plants) that would harm these little guys…(Ok, Maggie, my “mini” golden doodle isn’t’ so “mini” at 44 pounds). 😂

I did some research, and I ended up having to pull up my 3 hydrangeas 🌸 where our newly fenced in yard was. 😢 I’ve always loved diffusing essential oils in my home (especially Young Living’s “Thieves” to prevent flu and cold season better), but then when I found out that “Clove” (one of the 5 ingredients of Thieves) is very toxic to dogs and could cause them to pass out and have seizures, I quickly researched what oils I COULD diffuse in the house with our 2 pups!

And note: do not leave your animal locked in a room with a diffuser going…they should be allowed to leave the room in case the oil in the air is overwhelming them. They have a REALLY good sense of smell, so you don’t ever want to overpower that sensation.

Anyway, I’ve formulated a list of essential oils AND plants 🪴 that are good and NOT so good for our furry friends. ❤️
